#6 To Breathe Or Not To Breathe?
I first met Jiminy Billy Bob on a St John Ambulance training course, he was sitting next to me and throughout the session he continually fell asleep on my shoulder. I thought this was very bizarre as I'd never met the guy and every time I'd nudge him, he would wake up startled and take a sip of his coke!
I later found out that Jimmy has sleep apnea, a breathing disorder which provoked him to have shallow breaths or momentarily stop breathing all together. This caused him to be very tired so before he had his cpap machine (which he had to import the mask from America as he has a weird shaped head), he often needed a few naps.
One time Jimmy was travelling on a bus and his hearing aids had either fallen out or stopped working (which seems to be a regular occurrence for him.)
When the driver was doing final checks he came across Jimmy and was shouting at him to wake up and get off the bus. Jimmy obviously couldn't hear him and as his respiration was so light, it looked like he wasn't breathing at all.
When Jimmy was finally aroused, the bus driver almost had a heart attack as he was convinced Jimmy was dead!
(Also when submitting this Cache for review, Hanoosh replied to me and said to check my coordinates as it's currently in the Mediterranean sea! Jimmy loves a good trek so if I kept those cooordinates, I can imagine him renting a rowing boat and scuba gear to try and be the FTF!)
