School district was formed in July 1898 and was definitely not named for Canada's present flag.
The original frame school was opened in 1903. A brick school was built in 1907 with a full basement, furnace, coal and wood bin. The original school building became the stable that students kept their horses during the school day.
The school was closed in 1953 and sold in 1956 and the material was used to build the community hall in Aldersyde.
