In the unlikely event that the camp is occupied, you may park anywhere on the side of the road. The trail head is exactly 25 paces east of the bridge, look for a trail that heads up the hill in the dark shale. The hill is very steep but the trail is obvious so you should have no problem finding your way. It's only a couple of hundred yards away from the road so take your time and be careful. As you approach the top, you'll begin to hear the roar of the waterfall. It's truly an amazing site and worth every minute of the hike up. Once you reach the main landing at the top of the trail, stop, relax and take it in. Don’t forget to look opposite from the falls because the view of the Alamosa river valley is also amazing, especially in the fall when the trees are changing colors. After you've had a chance to enjoy the view, locate the trail that continues going uphill from the falls. Take the trail a short distance and look for a unique tree stump that stands out from the rest. Please enjoy a great piece of swag from our cache and help keep the quality high by sharing your fun and useful outdoor gear.
