Head into the hills above Old Kilpatrick and follow the historic hill tracks that criss-cross the Kilpatrick Braes. Watch out for waterfalls along the way, and spot waterbirds on the nearby Humphrey Loch or Greenside Reservoir. Be prepared for some long steep slopes on rough grassy tracks– it can also be very wet and muddy in places.
This cache is tucked under a huge branch of a sprawling oak tree. It first glance, this long thick branch seems to be a tree of its own. It is accessible by taking a very short detour, through some trees, off the main path. A good scramble will be necessary. The cache itself is a cylinder container approximately 7.5" long and 4.5" in diameter. (19.5 cm / 11 cm).
As is common with taking gps coordinates under trees, gz might not be gz.
