Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates – they are for the historical home that this cache is about and we recommend you visit it before you grab the cache. The actual cache is about 500 meters away but you will need to do a bit of research and a little math to solve this puzzle and find your final. Cache is a magnetic nano and should be fairly easy to find once you get to the right GZ.

The final cache is located at N43 42.UVW W079 17.XYZ. You will need to answer the questions below to get the needed digits.

1 – The William Devenish home was built in which year? This one will require some logic as one “public” source has the date recorded incorrectly. Date = ABCD

To find U:

A + B + C + D  = EF

F - E = U

2 – In which year did William and his family settle in this spot? The last number of this year = V

3 – How many years did William work in public service before Scarborough was incorporated? The last number of this year = W

4 – Which year was the plaque at the house erected? Date = GHIJ.  Until which year was William a Justice of the Peace? Date = KLMN

To find X:

GHIJ - KLMN = PQR

R – Q – P = X

5 – How many children did William and Jane have? This number = YZ

It is a short walk to the final cache location if you choose to start at the Devenish House or there is parking on near by side streets. Please be extremely careful if you cross Victoria Park Ave. We don't recommend it as it is a very busy street.
