Obec Rudná pod Pradědem leží v centrální části okresu Bruntál, v samotném podhůří Jeseníků a navazuje na jeho hlavní turistická centra, rekreační a lyžařská centra v okolí Pradědu.
Území obce se skládá ze dvou místních částí - Nová a Stará Rudná ležící v nadmořské výšce cca 530 - 740m. Každá část má dnes odlišný charakter. Zatím co Stará Rudná je venkovským sídlem s výraznou obytnou a výrobně-zemědělskou funkcí, Nová Rudná je výhradně rekreační oblastí.
V obci se nachází základní a mateřská škola, knihovna, nízkoprahové centrum pro děti a mládež, prodejna smíšeného zboží a hospoda. Za kostelem najdete hezké dětské hřiště.
Pro turisty se zde nabízí celoroční možnost vyjížděk na koních. K 31.12.2014 bylo v obci trvale hlášeno 382 obyvatel.

Vaším úkolem je navštívit tři místa, na kterých získáte potřebné informace k dopočítání finálních souřadnic. Pohodlnou chůzí to lze zvládnout během půlhodinky. Zaparkovat můžete u obchodu se smíšeným zbožím, viz. parking souřadnice.

Rudná pod Pradědem is situated in the central part of the Bruntál district, in the foothills of the Jeseníky Mountains and near its main tourist centers, recreational and ski centers in the vicinity of Praděd.
The territory of the village consists of two local parts - Nová a Stará Rudná, situated at an altitude of approximately 530 - 740m. Every part has a different character today. While Stará Rudná is a rural residence with a distinctive residential and production-agricultural function, Nová Rudná is exclusively a recreation area.
In the village there is a primary school and a kindergarten, a library, a center for children and youth, a shop and a pub. Behind the church you will find a nice playground.
For tourists there is a year-round possibility of horseback riding. As of December 31, 2014, 382 inhabitants were reported in the village.
