Geocache Description:

A simple little puzzle combining some of my passions - Baseball and Music.   There is nothing to find at the posted coordinates.

As you probably already know if you've looked at some of my other caches, apart from Geocaching I have a love for Baseball and music.   Including a cache about baseball songs.

One of the things I enjoy about baseball is the statistics.    All sports have statistics, but baseball has LOTS of them.     I grew up learning about famous numbers... Babe Ruth with his 714 Home Runs, Roger Maris hitting 61 Home Runs in a season.   Ted Williams, the last batter to hit over .400 (.406 ).   And on and on.....

This cache will introduce you to some of those numbers.. with a bit of music.    Listen to This song

You will hear some famous numbers, varying between 1 and 4 digits. Treat each as a 4 digit number, adding zeros at the front if needed, and ignore decimal points. Eg. treat the number "1.12" as 0112. Then, do some research to match each of these names with one of the numbers. (In the case of Roger Clemens, two of the numbers.)

For one of these numbers/records, you may find some disagreement, though the number I used is the generally accepted one. "mlb.com" is the definitive source in case of any ambiguity.

Joe DiMaggio xxAx
Pete Rose xxxB
Rickey Henderson xCxx
Orel Hershiser (and also Old Hoss Radbourn in a different way, though there is debate on this) xxxD
Ichiro Suzuki xxxE
Warren Spahn xxxF
Jamie Moyer xxGx
Cal Ripken Jr. xxHx
Bob Gibson xxxJ
Roger Clemens xxKx Note: For Roger Clemens, two different stats apply. Take the 2 numbers in the song which apply and add those numbers together to get xxKx.
