Dumfries Conservation Area is comprised of 75 hectares of land between Dunbar Road, Hespeler Road and Coronation Boulevard. There is a nice big parking lot on Dunbar Road which is open from May to October. The trails will take you through plantation forests, mature forests, and wetlands. The annual Dumfries Kite Festival is held here on the first weekend of June.
Within the first few months of caching, we came to this area, and had a great time finding some caches. We love this forest! Enjoy your hike here - you may not believe how quiet it becomes here in the forest, right in the middle of busy Cambridge! Just beware of the army of mosquitoes in the summer, and bring lots of bug spray.
