Mini-Zoo am Pötzi-Park
Die Geschichte des Pötzleinsdorfer Schlossparks geht zurück ins 13. Jahrhundert. Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde das Schloss von Johann Heinrich Geymüller renoviert und der Park wurde im englischen Stil neu gestaltet. Für einige Zeit war es ein beliebter Treffpunkt der Wiener Gesellschaft. Nach Geymüllers Konkurs verschlechterte sich jedoch der Zustand des Parks und des Schlosses. Der letzte private Besitzer vermachte es Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts der Gemeinde Wien. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg wurde der Park erneut renoviert und 1949 wieder eröffnet.
Heute befinden sich am Haupteingang des Parks ein riesengroßer Spielplatz sowie ein Ziegengehege – somit ist der Park ein beliebtes Familienausflugsziel. Der weniger reichlich besuchte Teil des Parks ist nicht nur Heimat von Rehen, sondern auch seltener Tiere und Pflanzen. Somit ist auch der wäldliche Teil des Parks einen Besuch wert.
Der Cache befindet sich nicht (!) im Park, sondern wenige Meter außerhalb. Im Behälter ist Platz für kleine Tauschgegenstände und Trackables.

Mini-Zoo at the Pötzi-Park
The history of the Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark (castle park) goes back to the 13th century. In the beginning of the 19th century the castle was renovated by Johann Heinrich Geymüller and the park was re-designed as an English landscape garden. During that time it was a popular meeting point of the Viennese society. After Geymüller went bankrupt, the condition of the castle and park worsened. The last private owner donated it to the municipality of Vienna in the beginning of the 20th century. After the Second World War the park was renovated again and re-opened in 1949.
Today there is a large playground at the main entrance as well as a small goat farm – that’s why it is a popular place for families. The less visited part of the park is not only home to deer, but also to a lot of rare animals and plants. That’s why also the park forest is worth a visit.
The Cache is not (!) placed inside the park fences, but a few meters outside. The container fits small items to be traded (aka SWAG) and Trackables.
