Barnett Newman (January 29, 1905 – July 4, 1970) was an American artist (1905-1970). He is seen as one of the major figures in abstract expressionism and one of the foremost of the Color Field painters. His paintings are existential in tone and content, explicitly composed with the intention of communicating a sense of locality and presence. This triangle was dedicated to the artist because of the proximity of his apartement which was in 35 White Street.
This geocache is small and easy. I put it in this spot because I feel that this small triangle is often forgotten about even though many people pass by it every day. It is in a black container. It located in the general area of TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal) where there are many restaurants, many train stops delis. It is also close to 1 World Trade Center. This information is good and all but don;t forget to have fun!!!!!
