This cache was placed as part of a series to celebrate the Lower Severn Vales.
In the Georgian times, space was used as a viewing mound: from it one could survey the Severn bay below and the Welsh hills beyond it. You could spot intruders! Let us know if you can see the view in winter when the leaves are dropped. In the 1940’s, Scouts invested the circle and used it as a chapel. Today, the Woodland Trust want to conserve it by promoting the regrowth of the two the dead tree stumps.
