Geocache Description:

One of several  Firestation caches located within Hampton County. 

Special thanks to Chief Greg Cook and his staff for allowing the placement and providing Fire Saftey Facts for each cache in the series!

Furman Fire Department:  

Furman Fire Department became part of Hampton County Fire-Rescue in 1991.  It is currently under the command of Chief Cook.

            Fire Safety Fact:   2,900 home clothes dryer fires are reported each year and cause an estimated 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss.  Use a lint brush or vacuum attachment to remove accumulated lint from under the lint trap and other accessible places on a periodic basis.Every 1-3 years, depending upon usage, have the dryer taken apart and thoroughly cleaned out by a qualified service technician.Clean the lint trap after each load.
