Nachádza sa na západnom svahu vrchu Tisová za tenisovými kurtmi južne od Vodného raja tesne nad dnom doliny.
„Mamut“ je jedinou zachovanou živou travertínovou kopou z pôvodných dvoch vo Vyhnianskej doline, staršia Kaskáda pod kúpeľom Bankáreň bola zahrnutá hlinou pri stavbe vonkajšieho bazéna v 60. rokoch 20. storočia po zničení pôvodných kúpeľov po 2. svetovej vojne.
Travertín vzniká vyzrážaním vápenitej zložky termálnej vody po jej ochladení. Travertínová kopa je stále „živá“, je na ňu zabezpečený prívod termálnej vody. V travertíne sa uchovávajú aj v súčasnosti zvyšky listov a machov po pokrytí kalcitom. Výskyt travertínov vo vulkanickom pohorí je pomerne výnimočný. Za chránenú prírodnú pamiatku bol vyhlásený v roku 1986.

Vyhniansky Mammoth

"Mammoth" is the only surviving living travertine hill from the original two in Vyhnianska valley, the older Cascade under the Bancara Spa was covered with clay during the construction of the outdoor swimming pool in the 60s of the 20th century after the destruction of the original baths after World War II.
Travertine is formed by precipitation of the calcareous thermal water component after cooling. The travertine hill is still "alive", and the thermal water supply is secured. Travertine also retains the remains of leaves and mosses after covering with calcite. The occurrence of travertines in the volcanic mountain range is quite exceptional. The protected natural monument was proclaimed in 1986.
