Welcome to Golden Lake. Golden Lake is located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. This lake is 250 acres in size. It is approximately 46 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
At this location once stood an A&W Root Beer Stand similar to the one in the picture. Now this area is used for a boat launch parking to Golden Lake. Before the Interstate was developed, Hwy 18 was one of the main roads after 1932 to travel from Milwaukee to Madison. Information on the history was found on a variety of pages on the internet including Wikipedia Picture courtesy of Historic Fine Art, which is watermarked on the picture.
