Geocache Description:

Trail of tears Commemorative Park

Welcome to Princetons Trail of tears commemorative park. A beautiful place but very sad history. In the year 1838 16,000 Native American Indians were forced to march over 1200 miles from there land in the East to a reservation land West of the Mississippi. Over 4000 died. Princeton was the overland route taken by the majority of the Cherokees. The nearby big springs park is where they set up camp along there travels. Please be respectful of this area. Cache is located on the edge of the park and not directly in the center. Keep cache hunting to daylight hours. Cache is a round clear container with log and trade items. Low muggle area unless the towns black patch festival in sept is going on.
