Collgar Wind Farm
Collgar Wind Farm is located between Merredin and Burracoppin. Many of the turbines are on private property but are visible from the road. There are 111 turbines spread over 18,000 hectares.
It has a power production capacity of 206MW, generating on average 792,000 MwH per year, or enough to power 125,000 homes.
Visitors can stop and read all about the project at interpretive shelter located on Bulls Head Road. There is also a ‘windmills, wheat and wildflowers drive trail’, an 81 kilometre loop.
