大井川河口は静岡県内でも有数の生息地として知られ、年間を通して80数種以上の野鳥が確認されています。
特に冬季は50～60種、1000羽前後の水鳥達が羽を休め、バードウォッチングの絶好の場所となっています。
ここには野鳥園として整備され観測用の小屋や高さ5ｍの展望台、長さ600ｍの野鳥の壁画などあり、晴れた日には展望台から富士山も一望できます。

Oigawa estuary is known as one of the habitat in Shizuoka prefecture, and over 80 kinds of wild birds are confirmed throughout the year.
Especially in winter, 50 to 60 species, waterfowls of around 1,000 birds rest their feathers, making it a great place for bird watching.
There are huts for observing wild birds, an observation stand with a height of 5 m, a mural painting of wild birds with a length of 600 m, etc. On a sunny day, you can see Mt. Fuji from the observation deck.
