Fyvie Castle Super Bonus Cache Mystery Cache

This is the concluding cache in my Fyvie Castle & Gardens series and can only be found once you have completed the Loch trail and found both the Multi-Cache and Letterbox. The Castle grounds & gardens are open daily from 9am to sunset and there is plenty of parking available on site at the pay and display car park.

In order to find this super bonus cache you will have to complete the following tasks:

• Find all five traditional caches around the loch. Each cache is an object of some description and it will be obvious once found. Take the second letter from each cache object word and write down its position in the alphabet so it can be substituted into the calculation below. #1 is cache 1 – Boathouse, #2 is cache 2 – Bird Hide etc. Now complete the following calculation to discover coordinate A:

(#2 + #3 + #4) x #1 - #5 = A

Check sum - the three individual numbers calculated above add up to 6

• Complete the multi cache to discover coordinate B

• Use the stamp in the Letterbox cache to discover the numbers required to open the cache at Stage 2. You should have five individual numbers. X = 1st Number,  Y = 2nd & 3rd Numbers,  Z = 4th & 5th Numbers

• Visit the Fyvie Castle information board at Stage 1 and answer the following questions to work out coordinate D

(Fyvie castle history in years ÷ 2) + (Number of birds on the board) + (walk distance in miles x 4) = D

• Go to N57 26.A  W002 23.B and do the following:

  Turn to the right 3 full rotations and stop at X

  Turn to the left 1 full rotation past X and stop at Y

  Turn to the right and stop at Z and then pull the shackle. Do not go past Z as you will have to start again

  Inside the cache at Stage 2 you will find coordinate C

• Go to N57 26.C  W002 23.D to receive your prize.
