This cache is replacing a cache that had been placed nearby, but the Beacon had been removed. The initial cache was assembled by a group of students at Meadowview Elementary attending a summer school class learning about maps, GPSr us, and Geocaching. Another class was held this summer and the students chose this location for the replacement cache.
The studens and staff at Meadowview Elementary adopted Fairfax park over 10 years ago and the whole school walk over to the park each spring for a park cleanup day. There are many walking and biking paths throughout the park and several Geocaches already in the park. Several of these are challenging micro caches and I wanted to add some more 'kid' friendly caches and give families the opportunity to further explore the park. There is parking for the pool nearby and these caches are a relatively easy walk from the parking lot. This cache is almost a park and grab.
This cache is a peanut butter jar, larger than the original cache and contains several trade items. Please remember if you take something, please leave something.
