1977 - Union was still Standing Traditional Cache

This is the location of the former Union School building.  Crestview local schools had two elementary schools, Union and Savannah.  These two elementary schools no longer exist and are now Crestview Elementary school.  Park at the drive loop near the cache.  A nice P & G

Union Elementary School was in operation in 1977.  It was a High School before that and my dad was a principal of the old Union High School.  I attended elementary school, where a building used to stand here, starting in 1979.  There was a creepy boiler room and creepy locker rooms under the gymnasium (they were rarely used once it was an elementary).  It had a playground behind the building and a playground along the weedy area near 545.  The building seemed dark  - old school house lighting I'm sure.  Once the building became too old for the school district to afford repairs, a levy was put on the ballot to combine Union (in Weller Township) and Savannah (in Savannah) elementaries and create Crestview elementary on the same campus as the high school/middle school.
