South Weber, Utah, U.S.A., can literally be “The Pits!” Come find out why.
Both parts of this two-part multi-cache are located in South Weber near different parts of State Road (SR) 60, commonly known as South Weber Drive to the West or Cornia Drive to the East. Although this is a multi-part cache, both parts should be relatively easy to find. Neither part requires much in the way of hiking, or walking for that matter, and there is very minimal elevation change. Where the heck is South Weber and how do I get there? South Weber is located in the northern most part of Davis County (go figure!) It extends South and West from the mouth of (windy) Weber Canyon and is bordered by the Weber River on the North, Layton City/Hill Air Force Base to the South, the Wasatch Mountains on the East, and Riverdale City to the West. The general area in South Weber where both parts of this cache exist is just south of the US-89 and I-84 junction. Fire up your GPS after arriving in the area in one of the following ways:
· If you are coming North or South on US-89, take the So. Weber exit #344 and turn West on SR-60.
· If you are coming West on I-84 out of Weber Canyon, take the Salt Lake exit #87B to southbound US-89, and then take the So. Weber exit #344 and turn west.
· If you are coming East on I-84 towards Weber Canyon, take the Uintah/So. Weber exit #85, turn South on 475 East, then turn East on SR-60 or South Weber Drive.
This cache has a theme, playing on the word: PIT. All original items placed in this cache, in one way or another, are related the to the word pit. When trading items, you are welcome to place in the cache whatever items you wish, however, it would be most enjoyable if you could try to keep the theme alive. Be creative and have fun, but don't get carried away (literally), it can be quite windy in South Weber. You'll be able to spot the locals easily-- they will be the ones leaning like the trees. The first part of this multi-part cache is a small white plastic Huggies wet-wipes container. The main cache is typical sized black painted ammo box.
Note: The cheat applies to both parts of this multi-cache.
