Geocache Description:

A leisurely walk along a not-so-often-used trail, just south of Alouette Lake, will bring you to this abandoned gravel pit.

You may see horses on this trail, and often when I come here I meet a dogwalker or two with their packs of domestic dogs.

But if you're the only one there, and you'll take a minute, you will likely hear some sand and rocks falling down the steep west side of the pit.

Luckily, the geocache is not anywhere near there.

To find this regular-sized container, duck between some of the small trees that have sprouted up here over the years south of the clearing. I had to move the cache on July 11, 2020 as the original was buried by mudslides coming off the steep pit walls. Use the spoiler pic to have an idea what area you're looking for now. This area may be wet in the rainy season, but I think you'll be able to get around the puddles.
