Gruvorna nämns i dokument redan på 1600-talet men det är inte före 1700-talet man gör försök till att bryta koppar. Gruvorna är dock mestadels kända för två andra saker: brytningen av kobolt, och upptäckten av grundämnet nickel år 1751. The mines came to be known mainly for two things: the mining of cobalt, and the discovery of the element Nickel in 1751.
Cachen ligger norr om gruvorna, relativt nära "Jonasgruvan", fast lite mer åt norrut. Cachen befinner sig i en mellanstor låda. Passa även p¨å att besöka gruvmuseet. Vill man inte gå ner i gruvn kan man alltid se en guidad tur i filmsalen. The chache is located north (only a bit more to the north) of the mines, relatively close to "Jonasgruvan" ("the Jonas mine"). The cache is placed in a medium sized container. Whilst you are in the area, make sure to visit the mining museum! If you don't want to actually go down into the mine, you can instead watch a guided tour above the ground!
