This is the gate to the Kaapsehoop fire tower which has the most amazing view over the Lowveld.
If you're an employee of the forestry company, and you have the key, then you're welcome to drive to the tower. All other mortals must walk, which you're welcome to do - no permit required. This is a good starting point, and it's an easy walk of about 1 km (one way) to the tower, and well worth it. There are several caches in the area.
However, most visitors park in the village and walk from there. Up to you.
