This cache, placed with permission, is located in the Knox Farm State Park, located at 437 Buffalo Road (Rte. 16) in East Aurora.
The Knox Farm State Park was formerly known as Ess-Kay Farm, the estate of Seymour H. Knox. It was acquired by the State of New York in 2000, and preserved as a working farm. The park is open year round, 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk. It is comprised of 633 acres, including 400 acres of grasslands (pastures and hay fields), 100 acres of woodland, four ponds, and several wetland areas. Visitors to the park are encouraged to enjoy hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, biking, and running.
To begin your quest, park at N 42 46.628 W 78 38.516. (There is a $5 entry fee.) Before hiking off to the cache coordinates, stop in at the Visitor Center to get a free park brochure. Included therein is a map detailing the elaborate trail system throughout the property. The cache is located less than 200 feet from a main trail.
