Exciting news from GCHQ, they have kindly sent some CITO Trackable Logo Tags for the event. Due to arrive in the post this week. I don't know exactly what they are yet, it's a surprise for me too!
This event is a part of the South Downs GeoTour. You can earn 2 bonus points per person for attending this event and helping to support the conservation of the National Park. Don't forget to bring your GeoTour Passport.
What is it all about?
The challenge is to clean up the rifle range and surrounding grassland areas to make sure that this location remains a nice place to visit to see the stunning views, take a walk and go geocaching. There is also some unwanted Ragwort growing in the valley bottom, we'll tidy that up too!
What do I need?
No specific skills are required just enthusiasm for the task and a willingness to work with others - it’s a team effort and we want you to have fun!
We'll bring bags, gloves and litter pickers - you are welcome to bring yours along if you have the super-duper-deluxe versions
You will need to wear your usual caching outdoor gear, long sleeves and trousers, and you'll probably need a some sunscreen if it's sunny. We will meet at GZ, through the second gate, at 10am for a safety briefing and talk about the area. If you haven't grabbed the nearby SDGT cache, it's a great chance to do so.
Bring along any geocaching trackables to share with the rest of the team and don't forget to check our vehicle trackables.
How do I sign up?
Log your attendance here on the event page - please give us an indication of how many people will be coming.
P.S. If you catch the bus to Steyning or cycle up to the event you can grab an extra bonus stamp too!
This event has been arranged in partnership with the Steyning Downland Scheme, to find out more about the site and its facilities before your visit please take a look at their website.

Completed Silver or Gold?
I'll have a stash of the reward geocoins for you to grab on the day if you've reached a milestone. If you think you might be close please make a note on your attendance log and I'll ensure I have enough to go around.
I'll also have the beautiful Seven Sisters Geocoins too - all proceeds are going toward the cost of keeping the GeoTour running. Every little bit helps folks. Thanks.
