Roman Bridge
The city of Veles and the municipalities on the west lie in the Central part of Macedonia. This picturesque region is worth to visit for its beautiful nature, especially spectacular mountains, rivers with waterfalls, quiet villages and fish restaurants with tasty meals.
Bogomila is a village located almost in the center of Macedonia. It covers quite a big area; however, today here live only some 500 inhabitants.
Considering the strategically important location, on the crossroad of roads leading to Prilep, Skopje, Poreche and and Veles, , this area was settled from the ancient times, when here lived Ancient Macedonian tribes Peons, Pelagons and others. The importance of Bogomila rose in the Roman period and the Middle Ages, as evidenced by the old Stone bridge at the entrance of the village and remains of fortresses and walls of defensive fortifications in the surrounding area.
