Cache #2 of the Cemetery Variety Series brings you to Brookside Cemetery just outside Allegan, MI. There's only one other wherIgo cache in Allegan County, so I thought I'd bring you another. The Cemetery Variety Series (or CVS as I've dubbed them) is a small series of caches placed in cemeteries around Allegan and Ottawa counties to highlight some of the history and beauty. In this installment, the cartridge will focus on veterans of the United States military.
The military holds a special place in my life, as many of my family members including my sister, father, and grandfather all served in the United States Armed Forces. Americans owe a debt of gratitude to these heroes, and my hope is that this cache will pay homage to these American heroes. As with all cemetery caches, please be respectful of your surroundings. The hours of this cemetery are from dawn-dusk. Please do not attempt any part of this cache unless it falls within those times. All of the stages and the final cache location are in the general area, so please observe the posted hours. Also, please stick to the paths whenever possible. The cartridge has been designed to keep you on the gravel paths when moving from location to location.
One last note. You will need a piece of scratch paper or note pad to complete the cartridge. While the cartridge is very straight-forward, you will not be given final coordinates in the cartridge. You will be building the coordinates as you move from zone to zone, so please take good notes.
How can I play? To play a WheriGo cartridge, you need a WheriGo-enabled device. On Android, download WhereYouGo from the Google Play Store. If, for some reason, you have an iPhone, you can use the WherIGo player from the AppStore. WheriGos are also compatible with Garmin Colorado and Oregon devices, as well as PocketPC devices. If you do not have access to a WherIgo device, post a note to the cache page, and I will meet you at GZ so you can experience playing the game.
