John the Baptist was a Jewish itinerant preacher in the early 1st century AD who was best know for proclaiming the coming of Jesus Christ and urging those who followed him to prepare the way for their savior. John the Baptist is mentioned and revered as a major religious figure in nearly all Christian faiths, and is considered a prophet by all of those faiths, as well. He is also known for being the first to baptize with water those who responded to the message he preached and sincerely repented of their sins.
The cache you seek here is hidden in the cemetery belonging to St. John The Baptist American Russian Orthodox Church, located just a short drive away, on West Railroad Street in Nesquehoning. For this cache in particular, the cache title refers to the fact that Eastern Orthodox churches, like St. John The Baptist, are known to call the Saint John The Forerunner.
