It is set along one of our favourite short cycle routes, a there and back route along gravel tracks from the visitor centre to the edge of the forest and back. If you prefer to make it a circular route, there are plenty of other routes back you could choose, or, for a longer route, you could combine it with our space invaders series (heading east from Space Invaders: Forest will link to the Tang Trail which will bring you close to Daddy Bear).
The caches are all placed close to the forest paths. They are not intended to be hard to find but GPS is notoriously dreadful around here so I have tried to give helpful hints.
You are looking for a clip lock box with space for swaps and trackables.
Placed in accordance with East of England Forestry Commission guidelines. The landowner (Forestry Commission East England) does not assess the suitability or safety of the cache location. The cache placer and the cache finder have a responsibility to take reasonable precautions to protect their own safety and the safety of others. Hazards observed at or on route to the cache location should be reported to the cache placer.
Remember that this is a working forest. Please do not park on verges or block forest access points. Respect any path closures or diversions.
‼️June 2025 - The area of the forest where the Bear and Back series is placed is currently close to thinning operations. The operations do not appear to affect the cache locations but do respect any path closures. None of my caches are hidden in the large log piles so do not disturb these. If any of the caches become inaccessible, please notify me via an owner attention log. ‼️
