ここ、源光庵を訪れる方のお目当てが、「迷いの窓」と「悟りの窓」。
この窓は本堂が建てられた時からあり、それぞれに仏教の概念、禅の境地の意味が込められています。
「迷いの窓」
迷いの窓の四角い形は、人間が誕生し、一生を終えるまで逃れることのできない過程、つまり「人間の生涯」を4つの角で象徴しています。この「迷い」とは「釈迦の四苦」のことで、この窓が生老病死の四苦八苦を表しているといわれています。
「悟りの窓」
悟りの窓の丸い形は、「禅と円通」の心が表されています。ありのままの自然の姿、清らか、偏見のない姿、つまり悟りの境地を開くことができ、丸い形（円）は大宇宙を表現しています。

The purpose of those who visit here, Genkoan, is to see “Window of Wander” and “Window of Enlightenment”. Those windows have remained here since the main hall was built. Each window represents the concept of Buddhism and the Zen’s spirits.
"Window of Wander"
The square shape of the window symbolizes the process where human beings can not escape until the end of their life, that is, "life of man" by four corners. This "Wander" refers to "four struggles of Buddha", and it is said that this window represents the all kinds of struggles in the course of life from birth to death.
"Window of Enlightenment"
The round shape of the enlightenment window shows the mind of "Zen and Circle-around". You can realize the natural way of life, pure and unbiased mind, that is, the enlightenment, and the round shape (circle) expresses the whole universe.
