Geocache Description:

A quick P&G with a history lesson included!

Two hundred years ago settlers began travelling the Penetanguishene Road.  Now geocachers are invited to read the stories of these travels and settlements for themselves.  From Kempenfelt Bay on the west edge of Barrie up to Wyebridge, there is a series of signs that share some of the stories of people who forged the road to naval establishments in Pentanguishene.  This cache brings you to the Orr Lake.  The cache is located in an area where a hike, a picnic and a swim are all possibilities. Please take time to read the historical sign board located near GZ.  If you are into deforestation and reforestation and the settling of this region of Simcoe County, this provides an informative history lesson!  .
