La bataille contre la Maison Mormont

Introduction

La Maison Mormont est une maison vassale qui jure fidélité à la Maison Stark. Ils dominent l'Ile-aux-Ours, une île située au nord-ouest de Winterfell. Le chef de la maison est le Seigneur de l'Ile-aux-Ours. La famille possède une épée en acier valyrien nommée Grand-Griffe.

L'Ile-aux-Ours serait un cadeau de la Maison Stark, ce qui leur a valu la loyauté éternelle de la Maison Mormont. Les Starks auraient gagné ces terres dans un match de lutte contre le roi des Iles de Fer. La maison Mormont est l'une des maisons les plus anciennes et les plus fières du Nord, mais sa réputation et son honneur ont été ternis par leur ancien seigneur, Jorah Mormont, qui a commis le crime inexcusable (dans Westeros, tout du moins) de la traite des esclaves. La maison a été ébranlée par cette disgrâce, en particulier l'ancien seigneur Jeor Mormont.

The battle against House Mormont

Introduction

House Mormont is a vassal house that holds fealty to House Stark. They rule Bear Island, an island far to the north-west of Winterfell. The head of the house is the Lord of Bear Island. The family possesses the Valyrian sword Longclaw.

House Mormont's ancestral home of Bear Island is said to have been a gift from their liege lords House Stark, which earned them the everlasting loyalty of House Mormont. The Starks are said to have won the lands in a wrestling match against the King of the Iron Islands. House Mormont is one of the oldest and proudest Northern houses, but their reputation and honor has been tarnished somewhat by their former lord, Jorah Mormont, who committed the inexcusable crime (in Westeros, anyway) of dabbling in the slave trade. The House has found it difficult to shake off this disgrace, especially former lord Jeor Mormont.
