The Magnolia Branch of the Seattle Public Library System is an architectural gem and not to be missed. It was designed by noted Seattle architect Paul Hayden Kirk, and is a great example of Northwest architectural design with influences from Japan. The branch won national recognition after it opened, and Seattle's Landmarks Preservation Board has designated it as a landmark building. George Nakashima, who is considered by many to have been a leading innovator of 20th century furniture, designed much of the furniture inside the branch.
