Onze allereerste geocache en deze is gelegd op het mooie eiland Rhodos. Wij verbleven in één van deze geweldige villa’s in de White Village in Lachania (zuidkant van het eiland). De locatie en het pleintje binnenin het complex vonden wij zo mooi dat we dit graag aan anderen wilden laten zien. In overleg met de eigenaren zijn wij tot deze verstopplaats gekomen. Je kunt deze geocache dagelijks bezoeken van 09.00 – 14.00 en van 18.00 – 21.00 uur. Parkeer je auto op de parkeerplaats buiten de poort en loop dan naar de gegeven locatie. De White Village is ieder jaar van 1 april tot en met 31 oktober geopend.
White Village ligt aan de bovenkant van het dorp Lachania, een prachtig pittoresk dorpje gelegen aan de voet van de bergen. Het biedt een panoramisch uitzicht op de valleien die tot aan de zee uitstrekken. Lachania heeft zijn traditionele dorpscentrum met smalle straten behouden, met traditionele huizen, waarvan vele liefdevol zijn gerestaureerd naar hun vroegere glorie. Het dorp is al vele jaren bekend als ontmoetingsplaats voor kunstenaars uit heel Europa. Het doel van de White Village architecten was om een samenspel van binnen- en buitenruimtes te combineren die harmonieus zouden combineren met traditie en minimalistische en moderne faciliteiten. Unieke elementen uit het dorp verrijken het door innovatieve inspiraties.

This is our first geocache and it is placed on the beautiful island of Rhodes. We’ve stayed in one of the great villas of White Village Hotel in Lachania (south part of the island) during our holiday. The location and the square of the complex were so beautiful that we loved to share this place with other people. Along with the owners of the White Village, we’ve hidden this geocache in a special place. You can search for it daily between 09.00-14.00 and 18.00-21.00 hours. Park your car in the parking area outside the gate and walk inside to the given location. The White Village operates from the 1st of April until the 31st of October each year.
White Village rests on the upper side of Lachania, a beautiful picturesque village located southwest at the foot of the mountains that occupy the interior of the island, offering a panoramic view of the valleys stretching up to the sea. Lachania retains its traditional village centre with narrow streets, jostling traditional houses, many of which have been lovingly restored to their former glory. Since the village has been known for years as the meeting point of artists from all over Europe, the aim of the White Village architects was to orchestrate a complex array of interior and exterior spaces, which would harmonically combine tradition with minimalist and modern facilities, adapting unique elements from the village and enriching them through innovative inspirations.

Αυτό είναι το πρώτο μας geocache και το τοποθετήσαμε στο όμορφο νησί της Ρόδου. Κατά τη διάρκεια των διακοπών μας μείναμε σε μία από τις υπέροχες βίλες του White Village στη Λαχανιά (στο νότιο τμήμα του νησιού). Η τοποθεσία και η πλατεία του συγκροτήματος είναι τόσο όμορφα που θελήσαμε να τα μοιραστούμε και με άλλους. Μαζί με τους ιδιοκτήτες του White Village, έχουμε κρύψει αυτό το geocache σε ένα ιδιαίτερο σημείο. Μπορείτε να το ψάξετε καθημερινά 09.00-14.00 και 18.00-21.00. Παρκάρετε το αυτοκίνητό σας στο parking έξω από την πύλη και προχωρήστε στην τοποθεσία που σας δίνεται.
Το White Village λειτουργεί κάθε χρόνο από την 1η Απριλίου ως τις 31 Οκτωβρίου. Βρίσκεται στο άνω τμήμα της Λαχανιάς, ενός γραφικού χωριού που αναπτύσσεται νοτιοδυτικά στους πρόποδες των βουνών που καταλαμβάνουν το εσωτερικό του νησιού, προσφέροντας πανοραμική θέα των πεδιάδων που εκτείνονται ως τη θάλασσα. Η Λαχανιά διατηρεί το παραδοσιακό κέντρο του χωριού με στενά σοκάκια και πυκνές παραδοσιακές κατοικίες, πολλές από τις οποίες έχουν αποκατασταθεί στην αρχική τους κατάσταση. Καθώς ο οικισμός είναι για χρόνια γνωστός ως σημείο συνάντησης καλλιτεχνών από όλη την Ευρώπη, ο στόχος των αρχιτεκτόνων του White Village ήταν να ενορχηστρώσουν μια σύνθετη σειρά εσωτερικών και εξωτερικών χώρων, που θα συνδυάζουν αρμονικά την παράδοση με μινιμαλιστικές και σύγχρονες εγκαταστάσεις, υιοθετώντας μοναδικά στοιχεία από τον οικισμό και εμπλουτίζοντας αυτά με καινοτόμες εμπνεύσεις.
