Dead Man's Curve Traditional Cache

This cache is located in Spearfish Canyon.  This curve can be a tricky one if driving too fast.  Speed limit is 35 mph. 

My family owned Rim Rock Lodge in Spearfish Canyon when this accident accured.  My mom remembers around 4 college freshmen students were driving in Spearfish Canyon in 1970.  They were headed back to town.  They were driving way to fast and flew off the road killing all of them. From that point on we refered to this curve as "Dead Man's Curve."  This cache is not recommended for kids to find.  One has to walk along Hwy 14A for a short distance from the parking coordinates. A person needs to be careful for cars and motorcycles especialy in the summer months. Dakotahillbillies is not resposible for anyone getting hurt while finding this cache.
