James "Gene" Korando Pond, formerly known as Lovet's Pond is a dedicated Illinois Nature Preserve. Public access beyond the signs is not permitted.
Lovet's Pond was renamed James "Gene" Korando Pond in 2009 to honor Mr Korando, a lifelong resident of this area and and avid outdoorsman who passed away in 2010.
Details of the area are found on two information plaques. You can even find Mr. Korando's Duck Soup Recipe on one of them.
You are looking for a typical hide on the south side of the parking area.
