All of us start at the same place, our first cache. Most of us never get as far as #200. The numbers are on the rise, but still, less than 4.00% ever even reach the 500 cache milestone. Only about .33% ever reach 5000 (that's roughly 17,500 out of a reported 6,000,000 "accounts"). Yet this special player has made it to the rarefied air of the top 100 IN THE WORLD! That puts her in the top .0016 of all geocachers! Wow!
However, just so she doesn't get the "big head", at just over 50K finds, she's STILL only found 1.2 % of all the caches in the world!
However, we're not REALLY gathering to celebrate the "number", but to celebrate the PERSON. Many of us have shared in her adventures, or benefited from her contributions and generosity. All of us are better for knowing her as a freind. Team Slcocala would be hard-pressed to have reached the milestones they have each reached without her driving.
Come for a few minutes, come for awhile. Eat if you like, but no purchase is necessary to honor a special person.
