Geocache Description:

Number 848 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

Lamplugh is on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It is a good start point for many walks and we pass by here on the way to the beautiful Ennerdale and to walk along some of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont Railway. The village is unusual in that it has no obvious centre, but St Michael's Church is built on the highest point.
