The dam is named after the wagons which used to travel through the area en-route to the Witwatersrand during the gold rush.
After spending a great afternoon enjoying the peace and quiet at the Dam we decided to place a few caches so pack a picnic basket or your braai and your GPS and come and have some fun.
There is an entry fee of R30 per adult and R15 per child. Wild Card is accpeted.
Gate Opening and Closing Times:
Summer (October to March ) 05h00 to 19h00
Winter (April to September ) 06h00 to 18h00
There are also camping facilities and chalets for those wanting to make it into a weekend trip.
You are going to have to work a bit to get to this one. You would need to bring your own boat/canoe/jetski/etc. We enjoyed a nice afternoon trip across the dam in our new boat to place this. Once you have arrived at the GZ it shouldn't be too difficult to find.
