Geocache Description:

I have been past this field many times and I finally stopped here and hid a cache. The park is named after Allen W. Vanderhoof who served in Vietnam. From a quick internet search: Allen lived in Rockaway township and graduated from Morris Hills High School. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Army, made it through basic training in Fort Knox, and earned the rank of Corporal before he was killed in action at the age of 20.

This cache should be a park, search, and grab. This is my first micro. I hope you enjoy it!

The drive to this cache brings back many memories for me and thousands of others who have been to summer camp nearby. I spent several summers on staff at Camp Winnebago and had plenty of great times there. I even helped with the Geocaching Merit badge once. This cache is within hiking distance of Camp Winnebago and Camp Lewis or stop by on your way to or from camp. Feel free to leave your memories from camp in the log. The cache is too small for any goodies.
