This is one of four Quadrophenia caches needed to obtain the coordinates for Quadrophenia BONUS (GC7ACT8) THE QUADROPHENIA BONUS CACHE HAS BEEN ARCHIVED
The Who's rock opera Quadrophenia is the story of Jimmy Cooper - a London teenager who's mind is fractured into 4 separate personalities. Like Jimmy, the Quadrophenia caches also reflect 4 separate personalities:
Traditional - Quadrophenia # 1 - The Real Me (GC7A434)
Mystery - Quadrophenia # 2 - Is It In My Head? (GC7AAWD)
Letterbox Hybrid - Quadrophenia # 3 - 5:15 (CG7ADR5)
Multi - Quadrophenia # 4 - Love, Reign O’er Me (GC7A49P)
It is not necessary to do the caches in order, but the cache descriptions follow Jimmy's journey.
In the 1960s, Mods and Rockers were two conflicting British youth subcultures who often clashed. Mods (or Modernists) wore clean-cut outfits like suits, drove scooters and listened to hip 1960s music such as soul, rhythm & blues and ska. Rockers wore black leather jackets and motorcycle boots, road motorcycles and listened to 1950s rock-and-roll.
Jimmy is a Mod and Quadrophenia's second track The Real Me reflects Jimmy’s struggle reconciling who he is. In the song, he visits his doctor, mother, girlfriend’s house and preacher. After visiting each he shouts “can you see the real me?”
I went back to my mother
I said, "I'm crazy ma, help me."
She said, "I know how it feels son,
Cause it runs in the family."
Can you see the real me, Mama?
Mama?
DIRECTIONS & DETAILS: The coordinates will bring you to the back of a parking lot where you will find an interesting concrete block. The cache is only accessible from the shopping center parking lot and cannot be accessed from the surrounding residential or school areas.
Like Jimmy, the concrete block has multiple personalities: is it simply a block or is it a light pole or is both? The location also contains decoys – at least 4 that reflects each of Jimmy’s personalities - and maybe more. Can you see The Real Cache? Bring a pen and you may need tweezers/pint retrieve the log.
