This is a War Memorial multi-cache, Fact gathering needs to be done at the posted co-ordinate for the memorial, on a grassed triangular area, in Westerleigh Village.
The War Memorial is made of granite, fashioned by Bodmin Granite Company. It has a rectangular concrete base, on which rests a rough-hewn rectangular granite base. Centrally on top of this, is a tapered, roughly hewn plinth, with a smooth surface on the West side, where the inscriptions are in relief on the face of the plinth. Above this is a granite shaft, topped with a Celtic cross.
To find the final cache co-ordinate, gather the following information at the posted co-ordinate for the memorial in the triangular site:
A. How many names of Privates are listed on the West side of the memorial?
B.C.D.E.F.G. Take the first initial of the Christian name, for the last 6 listed men. Record the letter value for each initial letter.
H. How many men have 'Junr' after their surname?
I.J.K.L. To the right of the memorial, at the edge of the grassed area, is a telegraph pole, which has two rows of 2 digit numbers, after the letter N. What are the 4 numbers?
To find the cache co-ordinate, substitute the letters below for your corresponding number answers and do the calculations:
N51 (J) (E - H) . (D + I) (G - F) (C) W002 (K) (B - I) . (L) (A / J) (E)
