Geocache Description:

Standard blue-top peanutbutter jar. Parking spot is located at the juncture of 12th ave and Stella Cheese road.  The road now is used by the county road commission to haul gravel.  During work hours the gate may by open, but could be closed at any time, so I recommend parking outside the gate and walking in.

If you know the area you can also access the cache from off the old RR grade / ATV trail

From the trailhead, the road will pass by three powderhouses on the way to the cache.  The first one is an older style, with a peaked roof with wooden beams.  This one appears to have been used as a camp at some time, with a hole in the roof for a chimney pipe and a tv antenna mounted to the roof.  The later two are newer styles with concrete roofs.  It's unusual for a mine with 4 active shafts to have 3 powderhouses.  The first one may have been abandoned due to location and age and the newer ones its replacement.

After the cache, take the RR grade to the west back.  It will come out (just west of trailhead) by the #2 boilerhouse and chimney foundation.  Take the road uphill to find the #2 hoisthouse and on to the #2 shafthouse.
