Geocache Description:

The name of the cache comes from the resemblence that the hiding spot has to a Bazooka – which is the common name for a man-portable recoilless anti-tank rocket launcher weapon.

The nickname arose from the M1 variant's vague resemblance to the musical instrument called a “bazooka” invented and popularized by 1930s U.S. comedian Bob Burns – you can listen to it on Youtube where it sounds like someone is blowing through a drain pipe! The word “bazooka” originates from an extension of the word “bazoo”, which is slang for “mouth” or “boastful talk” and which ultimately probably stems from Dutch bazuin (trumpet).

Getting to this location can be a bit tricky with a 2wd as there are a couple of soft, muddy spots that never seem to dry out and also a couple of high rocky sections where your vehicle will need some clearance to get past.

Please note: Although the cache is listed as a “micro” it is encased in something a bit larger.
