We are so lucky to have this Whitewater Park right in our little downtown Wausau! It has been operating since 1974 and has brought in people from all over the world when hosting the many canoe and kayak championships, including the Junior World Kayak and Canoe Championship. From its inception, volunteers have collectively made the park what it is today. At about a third of a mile long the park has something for everyone. You can take lessons, if you're so inclined, take part as a spectator or a volunteer during an event, or just sit on the bench and enjoy the view.
