Geocache Description:

WHERE:  Cranberry Community Park

WHEN:  Wednesday, August 23  - 4pm - 5pm

We will be at the pavilion across from the dog park.

If there is an athletic game in progress, we may have to move a bit.

Playing LCR is not mandatory.

Dogs are permitted inside the dog park ONLY!  They are not permitted at the pavillion.

Takes 1 minute to learn the game.

Even if you do not play LCR, you can enjoy the afternoon talking cache and swapping stories. But if you do want to play LCR, then see below.

Instead of making personal swag items, we will be playing LCR with swag items.  We will be playing multiple games during the hour, so bring swag items in multiples of three. There are a few rules regarding play:

1.  The swag items you bring must be new.  Handmade items are OK - as long as they are newly created.  Personal signature items are welcome.

# NO golfballs, no sticks and rocks, no Travel Bugs (TB's are not swag), no food or candy, no lotions or make-up, etc.  If you are going to be bringing geocache containers to use in the game as a swag item, the containers must be new and waterproof!  So NO flimsy food containers and no 35mm film canisters, etc.

2.  This game is meant to be fun.  It's an easy game that geocachers of all ages can play.  If you do not win the swag 'pot' on the first game, you may win one on the second or third or fourth or fifth game!  So bring plenty of swag to enter several rounds of the game.

3.  Do not spend a lot of $$$ on the swag items.  If you go to the store and buy three $1 items, that is fine.  All items must be in a package from the store--nothing opened/separated from the packaging.  Try bringing a couple really unique items for the game.  Or try making homemade crafted items.

See directions below on how to play LCR.  In the instructions, it will refer to 'chips'.  We will be using 'swag' instead of 'chips'.

LCR requires three specially marked dice and a handful of chips (quarters can stand in for the chips). Each player begins with three chips. The players determine who is to roll first. The six-sided dice are marked with the following letters, each on one side of the dice L, C, and R. The other 3 sides of each dice are marked with dots.

The first player rolls three dice. He or she passes a chip either to the left, to the right or to the center pot, depending on the roll of the dice. If any dots are rolled, the player retains his chip for that die. The next player to the left then rolls 3 dice, one die for each chip he possesses, up to three chips. This player then passes chips as directed by the roll. If he should have less than three chips, he only rolls as many dice as he has chips. If he has no chips, he is not out of the game. He simply does NOT roll. Should the person to either side of him be required to pass him a chip, then he again has a chance to win the game and must roll again when his turn comes around.

The roll passes in this manner around and around the table until only one player has chips. The last person having chips wins the game. He/She is not required to roll the dice.
