There’s a micro cache here to find,
Nothing special, just the usual kind.
Another gold smilie specially for you,
Then sit awhile, enjoy the view,
Relax, chill out when the log’s been signed!
People power has made this view possible.
Originally there was a higher than usual timber fence along this pathway. Although locals knew the view was there, no one could see it as they walked or drove past. Some years ago when the fence was in disrepair and needing replacement, and probably awareness of safety made it imperative to use a different fencing material considering the establishment on the other side of the fence, locals voiced their opinions and won!
The fence you see today was chosen as the preferred type, it was erected and now we can all enjoy the view!
Security personnel from the neighbouring establishment regularly patrol the fenceline.
They patrol in both directions, so check carefully before you search for the cache. Stealth is required. You can however see them approaching and there is a bus stop very nearby which would be a suitable place to retreat to if needed.
Across the road is a lovely park, named Shell Park after the establishment near the cache. It has children’s play equipment on the upper level and on the lower level is a grassed area and seats where you can rest and have a picnic and enjoy another view of our harbour, specifically the Parramatta River, locally called the Lane Cove River.
This cache is NOT accessible on New Year’s Eve.
The area is locked down by the police and only available to locals. This is not a sign of the times. It has been locals only for about 25 years.
I hope you enjoy this cache. It is placed on one of my favourite geodog walks.
