This is the first geocache I'm placing and this in the same spot I attempted to look for my first geocache at. Sadly when I attempted to search the cache was missing and I was never able to get the smiley. I recently noticed the old cache got archived and since I was reaching almost a 100 finds I decided it was time to place a hide of my own. It is a micro.
What would if have been like to go to school with kids off all ages in one room? Visit this quiet little restored school house for a lesson in history. There is a sign near the entrance to the park with a little bit of background on the school house.
"DeWitt School is a historic school structure that has been restored for interpretive use. It is located north of Ferrysburg on Taft St. in Spring Lake Township. Owned and maintained by Spring Lake Township, it is open to the public and is used by area schools to provide students an opportunity to experience a one-room schoolhouse learning environment. The structure has been restored to its original character, complete with old lunch pails and wood stove." (visit link)
