Duck Hunters' Memorial
In November of 1995 the bodies of four missing duck hunters were found in Wigwam Bay near Standish, MI. The three men and one boy were all from Midland, MI. This site is their memorial. The four men went out into Saginaw Bay when there were high winds warnings out. Winds reached 30-50 MPH and caused 8-10 foot waves which washed over their 18’ special-made boat from a Seattle company. Workers at a Spokane boat company walked off the job after four duck hunters drowned while using a newly designed boat that the company had warned buyers about using pending further testing. The employees feared the boat may have contributed to the deaths.

E= Speckled Alder- The second digit in the length of the fruit.
F= Subtract the first digit from the last digit in the year that the Duck Hunters' Memorial was established.
